Launch Day!

You don’t even know how excited I am that THEODOSIA AND THE EYES OF HORUS launches today, the first day of National Library Week! Truly the perfect alignment of the stars, as far as I’m concerned. Also? I get to spend part of the week with Texan Librarians!

As everyone is painfully aware, libraries have been hit especially hard in these hard economic times. Public and school libraries budgets have been slashed to zero lately (if not closed down altogether) and I want to do what little I can to help them out.

So to celebrate the launch of THEODOSIA AND THE EYES OF HORUS, I’m going to spread some Library Love. I have a box of author copies that I would LOVE to donate to some libraries about the country. And that’s where you come in. (It’s easy and painless, I promise!) Leave a comment nominating a local school or public library of your choice for the drawing. That’s it. That’s all you have to do. Well, and help spread the word. It would be fun to be sure lots of different libraries had a chance to enter the drawing. (Teachers and librarians can absolutely nominate their own library!)

At the end of the week, I will randomly draw the names of ten of those libraries, each of which will receive a hardback copy of EYES OF HORUS and a paperback copy of THEODOSIA AND THE STAFF OF OSIRIS. (And if the library doesn’t have a copy of the first book, THEODOSIA AND THE SERPENTS OF CHAOS, I’ll throw in a copy of that as well.) I can either send the books to the nominator to take to their library, or I can mail them directly to the library itself, commenter’s choice. AND, the grand prize winning library will also win a cash donation of $100 to spend on books.

Thanks for playing!

What a cool idea, Robin! Congrats on the launch and definitely enter me. Now I'll just have to decide if I should donate a book to the public library or the library at my kids school!

What a cool idea! I live in a small town (population 800) and I love our local library, but we definitely don't have the budget for all the latest and greatest books that come out. I don't think we have any of your books at all yet.

I want to enter my Mom's library. She's the sole librarian at a small Catholic school in Madison, Wisconsin. I few years back they did the first Theo book for Battle of the Books and I know they would love the new one, I think it's the best yet!

Decisions, decisions, Sherrie! :-)

I'm thrilled you liked Eyes of Horus, Jennifer! Phew!

Mary, I ALWAYS give two to the SBPL, one for the main branch and one for our branch here in town. :-)

Thanks, Erin! Wouldn't have happened without YOU!

Excellent, Jonathan. Your small town library is exactly the type I'm hoping to reach with this giveaway!

Eliza! Your mother is a librarian?? No wonder you are such a book person! (My grandmother was a librarian.)

Dayna! Got your two entries, and we will have to get together SOON! Thanks for stopping by!

That is SO wonderful! I'd like to enter the library at my kids' school: West Kearns Elementary. They have limited resources, but a great librarian who always tries to encourage and inspire the kids to read. Good luck, West Kearns! And thanks, Robin!

Just picked up a copy of EYES of HORUS today!!! Can't wait to dive in tonight.

I would like to nominate Mounds View Public Library, MN. They do have the first two books though, so you wouldn't need to send SERPENTS. Congrats:)

I'm home and have a review up! I don't think I was first to post a review, but I think I liked it BEST, so there (-:)

And thank you, Jennifer, for the EXCELLENT review! What a terrific way to start the launch!

Thanks to all of you book bloggers who blog about books you like. It is a great service you offer to readers everywhere!

If I don't respond to comments for the next couple of days, it's because I'm off in Texas! Yee-haw!

I would enter our Middle School library but we have benefited from Robin's generosity before. And I give them copies of all of Robin's books :)

I would love to nominate my own school library. Though it's a high school, and your books are aimed at middle school, many of our kids have loved the first Theodosia.

Have you drawn a winner yet? If not I nominate my school library ... Harmony Hills Elementary. We have the first couple of books but would love the chance for the newest one. You've already got some Theodosia fans ready and waiting ... and we'll convince more!
