I had planned to get back to some more writing stuff for the blog, but the weather hit 100 degrees and frankly, my brain shuts down at 82 degrees, so I had no luck with that. As soon as it cools off, though, I'll have some stuff to say.
In the meantime, I thought I'd include some updates and news about Nathaniel Fludd, Beastologist.
I just found out from my publisher it's already gone into its second printing! Not bad for not even being technically out yet.
However, it does appear the book is shipping from both Amazon and B&N now, even though the pub date is a month away.
The book was also featured in a Publisher's Weekly write up about "Ology" books. Very fun.
Also, I will be signing books at the Barnes and Noble in the Woodlands, Texas. Here are more details in case you live in the area.
And lastly, I think it's probably time to post a first chapter! Can't believe I haven't done that yet! Since blogger doesn't have the feature of page cuts, the link will take you to a separate blog page.
Here's hoping you get lots of writing done this weekend!

What's the release date?
PS-CAN"T WAIT!!!
Can you do a book signing in AZ?
Love the chapter! Thanks for the sneak peek!
Erica, sign me UP! I'm all over that. Love speaking at libraries. Although, we might need to schedule that during the fall or winter so I don't melt into a puddle on your library floor. :-)
CT, the release date is 9/28 but it is showing up in bookstores now, according to some reports.
I would love to do a signing in AZ, anon. What area in AZ? Maybe I can combine it with a regional SCBWI talk or something...
SO glad you liked the chapter story weaver!
Wow, what a great first chapter! I can't wait to read the rest of it. Thanks for sharing. I hope it cools off out there soon.
Um, if you shut down at 82, you're not going to like Texas...
Thanks, Stella!
And Sherrie, Houston is supposed to have average highs of about 82 in late October. I've been researching! So between that and air conditioning, I should be okay... :-)
OH my! Very excited to see Nathaniel in print!!!! And also for medieval France!
